Nelumbo Nucifera
In the silt blooms the Lotus
beyond the metaphysics of existence,
ignores the violet beauty of its petals
arranging colors
among the nauseating odors of the swamp;
Shine the Lotus
the intense vigor of his lucid transience;
No complaints, no promises, no regrets
in the absence of values and requirements,
in the unequivocal pertinence of death,
thrives in the barren;
Silently teaches the presence of being
in the insubstantiality of the non-being of the world.
Translator and Author
Between the Translator and the Author
fidelity is not possible.
The Author
ignoring collateral effects,
affects the Translator enormously,
whether with his inner voice,
his aesthetics, style or ethics.
The Translator
defeated in his passionate love
clings to the magnetic aura
of this foreign axis
and pours into the native tongue
the passion that moves him
removing from the beloved’s language
all traces of imperfection,
rejecting the human
and fallible way
with which he constructs the world
already vulnerable in his treatise.
The Nine Works of the Poet
Difficult to dream of utopias
when death at the threshold is;
Even more difficult is to rest your mind in therapeutic sleep
when in the lungs
an intruder prepares apneas;
Difficult to tolerate the presence of the other
when your hands are full of blood and debauchery are;
Difficult to dawn every morning
for the unhealthy day;
Hard to be what you are
when the different threat
the wicked spirit of the flock;
Difficult this now
full of past ghosts
marching noisily over the Agora;
Difficult to hold back the fire of indignation
against the violent fire of insult and slander;
Difficult to maintain a nirvanic dialogue
when the interlocutor is just samsara and naraka;
Difficult to be circumscribed in this biology
when one longs to be free and cosmic.
