Better Left Unsaid

It’s important
To not use
Words like
Gaslighter
With a narcissist,
He learned that
The hard way.

Mezcal Thursday

He’s stopping by
The liquor store
On his way
Home from work,
It’s been
A hectic Thursday,
As he checks out
The tequila
He feels like
He hasn’t
Been in here
In a long time,
Then he
Realizes that
He was here
Last Saturday,
Then he
Picks up
A bottle of
Montelobos Mezcal
And heads
To the register.

On Al Jazeera

He’s at
The airport
In Doha
And he sees
One of his
Former professors
On Al Jazeera,
He’s speaking
About the
Campus protests,
Columbia feels
A long way
Away.
